New series (2015)

In 2015 Gaumont Animation announced to finance, produce and distribute an all-new 2D animated series based on the orginal 1966 cartoon. Gaumont also plans to support the new series with licensing and merchandising campaigns. It was announced the it would be a 78 x 7’ 2D animated series.

Gaumont Animation, one of Europe’s leading producers and distributors of children’s entertainment has secured the worldwide exclusive option to the animation rights of the iconic duo from Larry Harmon Pictures Corporation.

The French animation studio shall produce and make a new cartoon series with new episodes to introduce Laurel and Hardy to the new generations. The appearance of the characters will not change from the Original 1966 version.
